On Wednesday (05/05/21) the beach wheelchairs reopened for the summer season. Initially opening on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout May and June, we are hoping to add more days in July and August. We are looking forward to seeing old friends again and new users at the facility.
The beautiful beaches in and around St Andrews should be accessible to everyone including those with mobility issues. Our Beach Wheelchairs solve this problem.
St Andrews Environmental Network in partnership with the Hamish Foundation is delighted to offer free rental of beach friendly wheelchair from the hut at the West Sands Beach. We have 6 available: Small (child) hippocampe; medium hippocampe; large hippocampe; Nomad: and 2 debug chairs.
At present, our Beach Wheelchairs are available to rent on Wednesdays, and Sundays 10:00am – 4:00pm
